Example model. The seams, depths and quality shown are synthetic values for testing the app. They are not survey or borehole data of any mine. Load your mine's Minex grid export below to use real values.
Plan · coal-top depth
Tap corners on the plan.
ShallowDeep
The section runs through your point. 0° cuts north–south, 90° cuts east–west. Cut across the strike to see the true dip. The section line also shows on the 2D plan.
Drag to rotate, pinch or scroll to zoom, two-finger drag to move. Reset view looks from the south-west, so north is away from you. Red line = your virtual borehole. Blue = marked area.
Tap anywhere on the plan to drill a virtual borehole.

Cum. SR
Depths in metres below ground at the point. Cum. SR is the stripping ratio (m³ of OB and partings per tonne of coal) if mining goes down to the floor of that seam. All values are model estimates; check against the nearest borehole before use.
Road distance · haul lead
Carry the phone in the vehicle. Tap Start trip at the loading point, drive, and tap Stop at the unloading point. The app adds up the distance along the road you actually travel. Keep the app open and the screen on during the trip.

Start and stop are set by the first and last point of the trip.
Level RL is read from the model ground surface at each point, which matches your survey levels when the topo is current. GPS altitude is shown for reference only; phone GPS height is usually ±10–15 m.

Export route for your surface plan
Coordinates are in your mine grid (UTM plus the shift in Settings), the same as the surface plan. The DXF has the route as a polyline on layer HAUL_ROAD with start and end labels. In AutoCAD: open the DXF, select all, Ctrl+Shift+C with base point 0,0, then in your surface plan Ctrl+Shift+V at 0,0. Or use the AutoCAD command: turn off Object Snap (F3), click the command line, paste, press Enter.
GPS and gradient settings
Readings worse than the accuracy limit are skipped, and steps shorter than the minimum step are ignored, so the distance does not grow while the vehicle stands. Jumps faster than 120 km/h are rejected. Gradient comes from the model ground surface along the track, checked over every 50 m, so keep the topo updated. Phone GPS distance on open haul roads is usually within 1–3%; deep pit walls can reduce accuracy.
Daily inspection
Pick a checklist, mark each item OK, Not OK or N.A., add a remark and a photo (live camera or gallery) where needed, and save. Each photo is stamped with date, time, location and item. Not OK items go to the open actions list until they are closed. Follow your mine's approved inspection format under CMR 2017; these lists are a field aid.

Area volumes · coal and OB
Quick block · enter length and width
Uses the point shown in "Below your feet": tapped, typed or GPS. Bearing is measured from north: 90° means the length runs east–west, 0° runs north–south. Use the strike or bench direction. From the start corner the length runs along the bearing and the width goes to its left (north for 90°).
Enter length and width above and tap Make block at my point. Or tap Mark area above the plan and tap the corners one by one, or paste boundary coordinates below. Results appear here.

Method: the area is divided into small squares (sample spacing shown above). At each square the app reads ground RL and each seam's roof and floor from the model. Coal volume = seam thickness × square area. OB volume = (ground RL − floor of the lowest seam mined) − coal thickness, which includes all partings. Tonnes = coal volume × density from Settings. Seam GCV and ash are tonnage-weighted. Model estimates only.
Paste boundary coordinates
One corner per line: Easting, Northing (an ID column in front is fine). Copy from your survey sheet or AutoCAD LIST of a polyline.
Bench and face plan
A · Benches in the current pit
Finds the bench floors and faces in the latest pit survey (load it under Monthly pit surface). Flat ground lower than the original topo is grouped by level (RL) into bench floors. Areas are from a 5 m grid and include any pit floor at the same level; check face angles and bench widths with the survey.

B · Bench-wise quantities of the marked area
Mark the area first (Mark area on the plan, Quick block, or paste corners). The app cuts it into horizontal benches from the current surface down to the floor of the chosen seam and gives OB, coal and stripping ratio for each bench.

C · Plan blocks for the coming months
Save the marked area as a block for a month. Blocks are drawn on the plan in the month's colour, and the month-wise OB, coal and stripping ratio are added up.

Planning estimates from the seam model and the current surface. The approved mine plan, bench height and slope limits under CMR 2017 govern.
Load your model data
Export the grids from Minex as one CSV, one row per grid node. Columns: X, Y, TOPO, then for each seam NAME_ROOF and NAME_FLOOR. NAME_GCV and NAME_ASH are optional. Use the same coordinate system as the GPS setting below. Null values such as -99999 are treated as "seam absent".
Load the seam model once. Every month load only the latest pit survey (X, Y, Z points or grid, CSV or XYZ, same coordinates as the model). It replaces the ground surface where the survey covers it; the seams stay unchanged. Depths, stripping ratio and volumes then start from the current pit, and the app shows what was excavated and dumped since the previous survey.
Coordinates and settings
GPS is converted from WGS84 to UTM (Angul falls in zone 45N), then the shift is added to reach your mine grid. Fix the shift by standing on 3–4 surveyed pillars and comparing. Phone GPS is good to about 3–5 m; an RTK receiver brings this to centimetres.
GPS needs the app opened as a web page over HTTPS on the phone. Inside the Claude viewer, location is blocked, so use Tap on plan or type the coordinates.
